Bury Christian Fellowship is made up of people from all sorts of backgrounds living in and around Bury, whose lives have been transformed through trusting in Jesus. To us, "church" is the people, not the building, nor the meetings. Our meetings are informal, relaxed and we try to make things as family-friendly as possible. People dress casually and the music for our meetings is mainly contemporary. Our teaching is Bible based and we aim to make what we teach applicable to people living in the 21st century. We try to live according to the principles of God's Kingdom. We believe that everything Jesus did when he lived on Earth is available for us today, and that God has a vision for His Church here in Bury. This can be clearly seen in that God still heals the sick. He still sets people free. He still changes lives. He still mends broken relationships and He still replaces emptiness and bitterness with love. If you find labels helpful we'd call ourselves an evangelical charismatic church, with an emphasis on everyone finding their place and playing their part in the Church. We are committed to Jesus and to one another, serving and loving each other through the use of the gifts God provides. We encourage proper relationships based on Biblical principles both in the family and between individuals. We also place a strong emphasis on the Bible's teachings and on the power of the Holy Spirit to guide and instruct us.
